FraudNET is GAO's hotline for the public to report government fraud, waste, abuse, or mismanagement of federal funds.
GAO is responsible for assisting the Congress in carrying out its oversight responsibilities pertaining to government programs, activities and functions. Generally, this involves examining the programs and operations of federal departments and agencies, rather than investigating allegations of wrongdoing by individuals. Because our resources are finite, we focus our audits and investigations on those federal programs and activities that Congress has mandated or requested us to review. We do not undertake reviews at the request of citizens or citizens groups.

FraudNet prefers you provide a way for analysts to contact you if more information is needed to process the allegation. It is FraudNet's policy to honor requests for confidentiality. Analysts safeguard all information against unauthorized disclosure and will not release information identifying individuals unless required to do so.
It is important to provide as much detail about the incident as possible on this form. If you wish to update an existing allegation, you must create a new submission or contact FraudNet analysts using the other methods listed below. Please reference that an allegation was previously submitted.
